Terms of Service — The Stack

1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of The Stack ("the app"), operated by Steady State Studios Pty Ltd (ABN 50 700 587 631) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Who can use the app
You must be at least 13 years old to use The Stack. By using it, you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorised use. You may sign in using email/password, Google, or Apple.
4. What the app does — and what it is not
The Stack helps you track personal care routines (skincare, haircare, scent), log completions and journal notes, and — optionally — receive suggestions from an AI assistant feature ("Facet").
The Stack does not provide medical, dermatological, or professional advice. Any information or suggestion provided by the app or the AI assistant is general information only, is not a substitute for professional advice, and must not be relied on to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. See the Medical Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your health, skin, or use of any product.
5. AI assistant
The AI assistant generates responses using an automated model. Its output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances. You are responsible for evaluating any suggestion before acting on it. Do not enter information you do not wish to be processed to generate a response (see Privacy Policy). We may impose usage limits on the assistant, including as part of a paid plan.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Paid subscriptions are planned but not currently available. When introduced, certain features may require a paid subscription. Pricing, billing cycle, and what's included will be shown before you purchase. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play will be billed and managed through those stores under their terms; subscriptions purchased on the web will be billed through [payment provider — to be confirmed]. Except where required by Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law, subscription payments are non-refundable. Renewals and cancellations are otherwise governed by the applicable store's or provider's policies.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of the data and content you enter. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it solely to operate the app for you. You are responsible for the content you enter and confirm you have the right to enter it.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse or attempt to disrupt the service; access other users' data; reverse-engineer or abuse the AI assistant or the underlying API; use the app for any unlawful purpose; or attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the app available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may suspend or discontinue the app or any feature with reasonable notice where practicable.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on the app or the AI assistant.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction.
